Dr. Starnes recently completed her vertification in Integrative Dermatology. She is bringing the best, most current information about your skin to rural SW Virginia.

Kristen will begin seeing patients at Cutting Edge Dermatology in November 2025.
A native of Wise County, Kristen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from UVA Wise. Before pursuing her Physician Assistant (PA) education, she worked with us as a Medical Assistant in 2019 and 2020.
Kristen completed her PA training at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU), earning a Master’s in Medical Studies in 2023. After graduating, she relocated to Savannah, GA, where she gained valuable experience in pulmonary care for a year. In 2024, with a desire to be closer to home as she planned for her growing family, Kristen moved to Kingsport, TN, and joined GI Associates, working in a dynamic and challenging medical environment.
Dr. A. Starnes and I are thrilled to welcome Kristen back to Cutting Edge Dermatology in Wise. We are excited for her to bring her expertise and compassionate care to you for all your skin-related needs.
